CONVOY AID!
June 29, 2016 1:01 pmOur Managing Director, James Ruddy, has recently returned from a trip to Romania, delivering well needed aid to people who need it most. James got involved with the charity, Yorkshire Aid Convoy (www.yorkshireaidconvoy.co.uk) six years ago, after seeing pictures of the suffering of some of the most vulnerable people in Romanian society-children, the sick and the elderly. James was shocked to see that in this day and age, in a European country, that such suffering can take place. After taking his Class 2 truck licence, he hasn’t looked back and gets involved throughout the year seeking donations, raising awareness and picking up donated goods from all over the country. James has also just been asked to join the charity as a trustee, a role he is really looking forward to fulfilling.
James commented…
‘I am very proud working at Eclipse Colours Ltd, delivering high quality, custom matched, bespoke masterbatch colouring packages for all our injection moulding, extrusion and roto-moulding customers, but I have also gained a huge sense of satisfaction knowing that the work we do through Yorkshire Aid Convoy makes a real difference to a lot of very vulnerable people. To get involved as a trustee is an absolute honour ‘
He also added…
‘We are extremely lucky in this country, despite what you read across the media, there are a huge number of people living and being treated medically in some very challenging conditions, what Yorkshire Aid Convoy does and delivers makes a HUGE difference’
Here’s James, on the left, with founding charity member and fellow trustee Mark Murphy. They are pictured unloading much needed medical supplies, donated very kindly by DLS Medical Supplies Ltd (www.dlsmedical.co.uk).
